Who do you work with?

I work with clients who see design as an investment in how they live, not just how their home looks. The most successful projects are rooted in mutual trust, where clients value thoughtful decision making, respect the process, and are open to guidance grounded in experience and intention.

My clients understand that a well designed home does more than look good. It creates ease, comfort, and a sense of calm that supports daily life. When collaboration is built on trust and clarity, the process feels effortless and the results are enduring.

Do you work with out of town clients or second homes?

Yes. I regularly work with clients who are not living in their home full-time, including second homes, vacation properties, and clients relocating to the St. Augustine area.  The process and scope of services remain the same as any full service project. However, having a designer involved throughout the construction process becomes especially valuable when you’re not living on site.

I coordinate with contractors, assist in guiding decisions, and help ensure the design is carried through as intended, so you don’t have to navigate the day-to-day details on your own. This creates a more streamlined experience, with clear communication and support in the moments that matter, without requiring you to be on-site regularly.

How involved are clients in design decisions?

Client input is an important part of the design process and helps shape the overall direction of the project. At the same time, the process is structured to allow space for thoughtful creative development so ideas can be fully explored and refined before they are presented.

What style of spaces do you create?

I don’t design from a template or subscribe to a single style. My work blends timeless design with layered textures, thoughtful materials, and subtle pattern to create interiors that feel rich, calm, and beautifully livable. Every space is designed specifically for the people who live there, with influences such as pattern play, coastal elements, touches of modern, and transitional details introduced only when they meaningfully support the home and lifestyle.

I believe luxury is a feeling, not a price point. It comes from refinement, balance, and a clear sense of intention, as well as from spaces that function naturally and feel aligned with the people living in them. Each project evolves through a considered, intuitive process that values clarity and cohesion, resulting in design that feels elevated, enduring, and deeply personal.

Can Zen Reno & Design work with my contractor?

Collaboration with the right contractor is essential to a successful project. I work with professionals who share my standards for quality, communication, and workmanship to ensure the design is executed as intended. Over the years, I’ve built trusted relationships with contractors who consistently deliver reliable, high quality results, which helps streamline the process and maintain clarity from start to finish.

If you already have a contractor, I’m happy to collaborate with them. Successful projects rely on clear communication, strong coordination, and a shared commitment to quality. When everyone involved is aligned on the vision and standards for the project, the process runs smoothly and the design can be executed as intended.

Are project management services offered?

Zen Reno & Design does not provide licensed construction project management. However, I do provide design coordination and oversight to help ensure the design is carried out as intended. I remain actively involved throughout the project to review key details, answer questions, and collaborate with the contractor so the design decisions remain clear and consistent as work progresses.

How are design fees determined?

To keep the process clear and predictable, design services are quoted as a flat fee based on the scope, complexity, and scale of the project. Each project begins with a clearly defined scope of work and outlined deliverables so expectations are established from the start and the design phase remains focused and organized.

This structure allows the design work to be clearly defined upfront while providing flexibility during implementation. It ensures the design is properly supported throughout construction so the finished space reflects the original vision and feels cohesive, elevated, and thoughtfully executed.

What areas do you serve and what services do you offer?

Zen Reno & Design is based in St. Augustine and offers interior design services throughout Northeast Florida, including Ponte Vedra, St. Johns, Jacksonville, Palm Coast, and surrounding areas.

Services include decorating and furnishing, renovation design, and new construction design. Each project is tailored to the home, the scope of work, and the level of support needed throughout the process.

I take on a limited number of projects at a time and prioritize clients and homes that are the right fit for my design process. For the right project, I am open to traveling outside of my primary service areas.

What types of projects do you take on?

Projects range from new construction and large scale renovations to full home furnishings and focused single room transformations. Every project is approached with intention and tailored to how you live, rather than applied from a one size fits all template.

What matters most is not the size of the project, but the partnership. The strongest results come from a shared commitment to the process, thoughtful decision making, and a clear design direction. When that alignment is in place, the outcome is a home that feels cohesive, refined, and truly personal.
